“Do Not Attach Your Islaam to Anyone or Anything.”

🗻Everyone’s path to Islaam is unique. Meaning that Allaah guides everyone to the straight path in various ways, it looks different for everyone.

🗻Some people were born and raised Muslim generationally and Islaam is the only way they know AlHamdulillaah.

🗻Others converted to Islaam. Born and raised being a disbeliever but then somewhere in their life Allaah guided them to Islaam.

🗻No matter how or what your path was to get to be a Muslim, do NOT attach your faith to anyone or anything.

🗻It may sound simple enough but so many people do this unknowingly.

🌋Some people attach their Islaam to their parents.

🌋Some attach Islaam to a spouse.

🌋Some attach Islaam to a culture.

🌋Some people attach their Islaam to trauma. (More on this later.)

🗻It’s like a line of poetry says in the children’s FiQh book from shaykh abu Taubah:

🗻“What do I think about Islaam?

Why it’s correct and what’s a flaw?”

🗻You have to choose Islaam because you actually BELIEVE in Allaah for yourself.

🗻When no one is around in the room. Before you go to sleep. When you’re alone. What’s in your heart…do you genuinely believe in Allaah.

🗻That bond and relationship with Allaah transends this worldly life. We can behave one way outwardly but what’s in our hearts Allaah is all aware.

🌋If you attach your religion to a person, and then things do not work out with that person. Then once the relationship with that person is done, then your Islaam is also done.

🌋Or if you attach your Islaam to someone and they die. Your religion will die.

🌋If you attach your religion to trauma, this will also affect whether you hold on to your religion or not.

🌋Yes, there is a such thing as trauma bonding via your religion. Let me explain.

🌋Some people because they’ve had traumatic events happen with other Muslims they will leave Islaam because they’ve connected their religion to Muslims. And when those Muslims did traumatic things, the person takes it as the religion itself is traumatic.

🌋They equate the dysfunction of people and make it as if the religion itself is dysfunctional when all along it was the faults and evil of people and not the religion.

🗻Some people become Muslim and learn Islaam linguistically, intellectually, culturally but they never learned the actual belief system nor built a one on one pure relationship with Allaah.

🗻They memorized slogans. Became well versed. But it didn’t penetrate past their throats. May Allaah protect us from this shallow understanding of the religion and grant us true knowledge, insight, and application Aameen 🤲🏼

🗻Dressing the part of a Muslim and sounding good is not true faith. No one is exempt nor safe so we ask for guidance 17 times a day in our salaah.

🗻This should tell us how important it is to receive guidance from Allaah. Guidance is only from Allaah alone.

🗻And an advice to men and women who are so dysfunctional and harmful to our communities.

🌋Muslims who are in and out of marriages.

🌋Muslims who put their children through destructive environments expecting them to thrive.

🌋Muslims who are passing down sins and “show off” practices as if it is religion.

🌋Muslims who say they are Muslims but are actually hypocrites in the ranks causing dissension via “cliques” and “groups” thinking that you are more righteous than the rest.

🌋Muslims who shun others without remorse.

🌋Muslims who speak with no knowledge.

🌋Muslims who say no one is safe to take from anymore leaving others with no one to turn to for knowledge.

🌋Muslims who “water down” Islaam. Ones who are scared in the face of disbelievers to openly believe.

🌋Muslims who hate on one another. Slander one another. Belittle one another.

🗻Hear me now, this is NOTTTTT real Islaam. And if you see someone promoting any of this, run away from them and learn authentic Islaam. Because clearly they are not proper representatives nor ambassadors of Islaam.

🗻Take from the revelation of Allaah His holy book. The traditions and teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions.

🗻Those were the best to walk this earth everyone else thereafter will never equate. And with this understanding detach yourself from people and rather attach your heart to Allaah who never dies, never sleeps, never needs anything, He is the one and only لا إله إلا الله

🗻Never think that you are better or more righteous. Never concern yourself with others just focus on yourself. For sure we will all return to Allaah alone so in the end, no one else matters anyway!

🗻May Allaah guide us and bless us to die upon this complete way of life Islaam…upon the Quraan and Sunnah Aameen 🤲🏼 Baarak Allaahu Feekum بارك الله فيكم
