Keep Your Hands Busy

🤲🏼 Our hands are made to be busy doing something.

🤲🏼Some of our elders used to advise us about keeping the hands busy:

“Busy hands bring quiet thoughts.

“A woman’s hands protect her mind when they are filled with beneficial work.”

“Idle time (and hands) are the devils playground.”

🤲🏼Allaah has blessed our hands to do many tasks.

🤲🏼It is unfortunate that many of us are exchanging the things that we could be doing with our hands for scrolling on socials instead.

🤲🏼Here are some examples of what hands could be busy with:

📿 Dhikr

🍲 Cooking

🧶 Crafting

🧼 Cleaning

✍🏼 Writing

🪴 Gardening

💅Self Care

📖 Flipping through a book.

📧 Typing beneficial texts /emails.

🤲🏼So the next time your hands get an urge to move, remember that this is the natural inclination that our hands have to stay busy.

🤲🏼Don’t just waste it by scrolling all the time rather, use your hands for productivity as well. Do not keep them idle.

🤲🏼Do not waste the blessed ability of hands that Allaah has gifted us with AlHamdulillaah.
