🍯Friday is the only day of the week mentioned by name in the Qur’an—Surah Al-Jumuʿah (Chapter 62) is named after it.
🍯The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
🍯“The best day the sun rises over is Friday.” SaHeeH Muslim.
🍯As you can see, Jumuah/Fridays are very special in the life of a Muslim AlHamdulillaah.
🍯Friday’s in Islaam are not just the end of the workweek—it’s a sacred, spiritual day centered on community, worship, reflection, and remembrance of Allaah. It’s a weekly mini-Eed, a weekly opportunity to reset and reconnect with our faith and family.
🍯Making traditions to surround this auspicious day is important to impart upon the family. Especially for our children growing up they should look forward to Fridays each week.
🍯It should be a festive spiritual vibe in the air beginning from Thursday night.
•Clean up
•Play the Quraan
•A lot of Dhikr
•Everyone smells good and looks good
•Adorn the home
•Burn some bukhoor
•Get some sweets
•Good food
•Drinks
•Gifts
•Invite friends & Family
🍯These will build some of the sweetest memories that your family will remember In shaa Allaah.
🍯You don’t have to throw a party every week or do everything all at once maybe just one or a few each Friday.
🍯Whatever you deem suitable to match your family’s dynamics but the point is to create a spiritual happiness surrounding Fridays for yourself and families In shaa Allaah.
🍯This builds such a strong connection to love our religion and our own way of life as Muslims. In addition, the blessings and traditions that we do for Fridays illuminate our week. Making us have something special to partake in together.
🍯These traditions can be passed down generationally once established, and you can get on-going rewards for that too In shaa Allaah.
🍯So let us take care of our Jumuahs in the best manner. Do not overlook such a joyous day. Rather prepare and be thankful.
