Life Transitions

As Salaamu 'Alaykum السلام عليكم

This is a topic that has been heavy on my mind especially in light of all that has been happening in the world. After all, we are living during a time that will be in history books for years to come In shaa Allaah!!! Since the pandemic has happened, it’s made many people realize that nothing in life is certain. But isn’t this what Muslims have always believed? That although we plan, we understand that there is a possibility it may not go as planned.

We know this but have we applied this concept until now? For many we have not. This cold reality of the pandemic has proven to us as Muslims that we have to go with the flow even when its not according to our plans or what we ultimately wanted in life. This has been a tough pill to swallow for some.

In life, we should remember that nothing lasts forever nor does anything stay the same forever. And it is through these changes of patterns, environments, relationships etc in life that we must keep going forward in positive ways as Muslims. Despite how difficult and out of our comfort it may be, the way to win is to rely on Allaah and keep going forward In shaa Allaah. Easier said than done believe me I know!

Through each stage of life (and there will be many) keeping the remembrance of Allaah at all times gives us the help and fuel we need to make it to the next level. But what are the transitions in life that I’m referring to? What does that even mean?

*From student to graduate

*Single to married

*Working to not working

*Married to divorced

*Healthy to sick

*Losing a loved one

*From poor to rich

*From no children to becoming a mother

*Moving from one place to the next

*From being young to old

And we can list so many more transitions in life. The point is that no matter what that sudden change is that comes about in our lives one thing that should never change is our reliance upon Allaah. We are Muslim and we should understand more than any other way of life that we have been trained through our religion to handle these changes in positive blessed ways. And that no matter how grim things may get, our eternal place is the hereafter so anything we go through on earth is temporary.

During the good times we increase in gratitude and prepare for the upcoming transitions by working on ourselves and our emaan. We actually appreciate the easy times even more once we’ve experienced things in life that we don’t like. It makes the good even sweeter. Keep going and learn about Allaah get closer to Him no matter what. Have good thoughts in a comforting way of knowing that Allaah will take care of us and always has whether we realize it or not. Work on this everyday and more upon our hearts and mind surely Allaah is the most merciful and most kind SubHaanAllaah.

May Allaah never leave us to ourselves and may He grant us Jannah Aameen. Share with those who may need to see this reminder and thanks for reading. Baarak Allaahu Feekum بارك الله فيكم
