š I cannot jump up tomorrow and be a doctor without going to school.
š I cannot become a lawyer and practice law without having had learned this skill.
š So why do people think they can be good husbands and wives without ever learning what it takes to be one?
š Why do people spend their entire lives invested into their careers, schooling, working, etc but then feel like they can āeasilyā raise a family without any training on doing such?
š One reason is because the family dynamic is looked at as inferior in comparison to the worldly affairs such as earning a degree.
š Some view family life as:
āIāll learn about it as I go along.ā
š Well this concept is what destroys marriages and families.
š Not willing to take the same energy, time, and resources to learn how to be a spouse, a parent, a shepherd to your flock is why so many families are ruined.
š Being married is like any other career. Itās a part of life that you learn and must invest time and efforts long term.
š For those who are unable to do such, then understand that you cannot practice any career or skillset without the knowledge of how to do so.
š You should be willing to listen and learn.
š Take some pre-marital courses.
š Take marital courses if youāre already married.
š Sit under those successfully married couples and learn from them because they are the scholars of marriage!
š Take from those who are divorced and learn from their mistakes. Theyāve been there done that and have benefits to share as well.
š Take marriage serious like you do earning a degree and earning your paycheck!!!
š Marriage is an integral part of life, community, society and nations. May Allaah help us Aameen š¤²š¼
