Not Everything Is About You

🚧Definition of Selfish;

Someone primarily concerned with their own welfare, interests, or pleasure, often with little or no regard for the needs or feelings of others.

🚧A lot of people are selfish. Sometimes by choice, sometimes because of trauma, other times because of their upbringing.

🚧Either way, anyone who is apart of a selfish persons life feels the brunt.

🚧Some of you reading this may be the selfish person in the room. While others may be the victim of a selfish persons actions.

🚧Some people due to their selfishness do not even recognize that they are selfish unfortunately. And how much they harm others.

🚧Some selfish people can only handle themselves. They don’t have room within for anyone else because they are so troubled with their own lives.

🚧How we can determine what we are is via self auditing. Wherein we take account for ourselves and dig deep down.

🚧You can also ask others around you. Often times you will find that they were waiting for the opportunity to discuss the issue of selfishness.

🚧Another thing is that you could be selfish towards one person but not selfish towards others.

🚧For example, sometimes a woman may be a great wife and generous towards him. But with friendship she is selfish and uncaring.

🚧So looking into the various relationships that we have and analyzing how we show up in each of those relationships is helpful AlHamdulillaah.

🚧Breaking away from being selfish is striving to be generous. Generous with your efforts, your wealth, your kindness, your love etc.

🚧Also being concerned for others outside of yourself. And being sincere with that concern. Everything is with balance of course.

🚧Asking Allaah for help is the beginning. Recognition of its traits and acceptance to change.

🚧May Allaah help us to be selfless and not selfish Aameen 🤲🏼
